MUSICIAN

Kitty Snyder’s career began in Athens, GA with the band Loveapple (which also included Jay Gonzales, now of Drive-By Truckers); her first gig with Loveapple was opening for the Goo Goo Dolls. She later started a solo career and was signed to Athens indie label “pitch-a-tent records,” owned by Cracker’s David Lowery, where she released 2 albums to critical acclaim. She traveled far across the U.S for several years, both as a regular opener for Cracker (playing rooms like the Fillmore in San Francisco and the House of Blues in L.A) ---and solo in her truck, playing with artists such as Arlo Guthrie, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, Azure Ray, and Alejandro Escavedo.

Kitty has been featured in magazines like Southeast Performer and Jezebel Magazine. Her albums have been reviewed in Paste Magazine (songs called ”Introspective Soundscapes”) and Stomp and Stammer (songs called ”Dreamy and Vulnerable”). While living in Athens,, Kitty won “Best Singer-Songwriter” at the Athens Music Awards and hosted a music television show ---first interview was Vic Chestnutt - that reached 50,000 households daily. Her song "The Blame,” was featured in the feature film Good Intentions.

She has taken a hiatus from performing but steps out on stage occasionally.
